La Grange-Based Health Group Gets New Leader
Western Springs resident is elected to lead Pillars Community Health's board for next year.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A Western Springs resident is now chairman of the board for a La Grange-based nonprofit organization that runs clinics in the suburbs. Steve Ryan, founder and CEO of RyTech, was elected to serve through next June on the board for Pillars Community Health.
Ryan, who has been involved with the group since 2015, is a supporter of its mission, according to a news release from RyTech, a digital marketing firm. Pillars provides services related to general health, behavioral health, and domestic and sexual violence, among other areas.
Based upon his own experience of grief and growing up with the death of his father at a young age, Ryan was originally drawn to Pillars Community Health through Buddy's Place, a childhood bereavement program and one of the organization's many services, the news release said.

"I affectionately refer to the depth of services offered by Pillars Community Health as layers of an onion: You keep peeling back a different layer to learn about another service and you likely shed a tear at the impact the organization is making without even realizing it," Ryan said in the release. "I'm truly honored to work with fellow volunteer board members and the senior leadership team to celebrate the organization's rich 100-year history and develop a strategic plan to guide the beginning of the next 100 years."
