La Grange Church Workers Missing Paychecks: Cops

The employees' direct deposit checks did not go through, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – First Presbyterian Church, 150 S. Ashland Ave., was informed by its employees this week that their direct deposit checks did not go through, La Grange police said.

The church learned that someone had changed the bank account numbers of employees, police said. An investigation continues.

The theft was reported Thursday.

Only one other incident of crime was reported in the last week in La Grange, with a population of nearly 16,000.

Police charged a 23-year-old woman from Bellwood with driving with a suspended license and having no insurance. It occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the 9600 block of East Ogden Avenue, police said.
