La Grange Cookie Theft Suspect Quits Job: Cops

In another case, a woman was arrested on a battery charge in a hospital disturbance, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest weekly blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • An employee who has since quit was seen on surveillance footage stealing cookies valued at $85 on Saturday at Crumbl Cookies, 1 N. La Grange Road.

Battery

  • A 39-year-old Hometown woman was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the La Grange hospital, 5101 Willow Springs Road, on a charge of battery. Police said they responded to a disturbance.

Damage

  • An 18-year-old Riverside man was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the 10 block of Sixth Avenue on a charge of damage to village property.
  • A resident in the 200 block of South Blackstone Avenue told police Oct. 22 that vandals damaged outside Halloween decorations. This was while the occupant of the house were out of town. The decorations were valued at $1,500.

Identity theft

  • A resident on Thursday refused to reveal any personal information to a stranger who called her. She told the caller that she would meet him at the police station. She also called the Chicago police precinct where the caller said he worked. She learned the precinct was getting such calls daily.

Check fraud

  • Someone obtained a check that DuThermX, 10 Beach Ave., mailed to a vendor. The person altered the check and deposited the money through a mobile application. The crime was reported Friday.

Driving violations

  • A 34-year-old Plainfield man was cited about 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at Goodman and La Grange Road on charges of failure to give aid or information after an accident, disregarding a yield sign, driving without insurance, driving without a valid driver's license and damaging village property.
