La Grange Holiday Walk Kicks Off Saturday

Final preparations are underway for the 2019 La Grange Holiday Walk on Saturday, December 7, when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive to Village Hall by fire truck to pull a giant switch that lights a majestic tree beginning at 5:30pm.

Dozens of ice sculptures, lively carolers, trolley rides, a kiddie train, pony rides and festive open houses are all a part of the celebration, now in its 28th year, which is organized by the La Grange Business Association and Village of La Grange. This year, presenting sponsors are Smothers Realty Group and DuPage Medical Group.

Schedule of Events:

  • 3:00 pm FREE holiday matinee of "ELF" at La Grange Theatre.
  • 4-6 pm Craft and green screen photo with Elsa at La Grange Library.
  • 4:45 pm All Village Sing with LTHS Madrigal Choir near Village Hall.
  • 5:00 pm FREE Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Kiddie Train and Trolley Rides. Hop aboard the trolley to Stone Ave. Train Station for Polar Express-themed activities, Elsa and free 3D holiday spectacles.
  • 5-9 pm Merchants welcome shoppers with festive Open Houses.
  • 5:30 pm Santa arrives by fire truck to Village Hall for tree lighting ceremony.
  • 6-8 pm Visits with Santa at Village Hall.
  • 6-8 pm Choirs perform in front of Village Hall.
