La Grange Leader Backs Cook President Candidate

Village President Kuchler criticized the longtime County Board president.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange's village president is backing the challenger to the longtime Cook County Board president in the March 17 Democratic primary.

On Monday morning, the campaign for Brendan Reilly, a downtown Chicago alderman, announced Village President Mark Kuchler's endorsement.

Kuchler criticized the performance of Cook County's government under incumbent County Board president, Toni Preckwinkle, who took office in 2010.

"Between the late property tax bills, the increased spending and the lack of services, Cook County government is just not working for people in communities like La Grange and we need a new leader who will work with us to deliver for our residents," Kuchler said in the news release. "I'm excited to support Alderman Reilly’s campaign, and I'm sure that he’s the right choice to lead Cook County forward."

Reilly said he was glad to Kuchler was "adding his voice to our campaign for change."

Over the weekend, Reilly received the Chicago Tribune's endorsement.
