La Grange Man Familiar To Cops Arrested: Police
Officers were called about an unwanted person in downtown La Grange, authorities said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:
Disturbance
- Filemon Avila, 43, of La Grange, was arrested about 9 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 10 block of South La Grange Road on a DuPage County warrant. Police said they came into contact with Avila when they were called about an unwanted person. Officers recognized Avila from previous dealings.
DUI

- John Holton, 41, of Carbondale, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sept. 28 in the 10 block of South Kensington Avenue on charges of DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Damage
- The back door of La Grange Camera, 20 E. Burlington Ave., was damaged overnight Sept. 29. Nothing was stolen.
Theft

- A man filled up a pillowcase of merchandise and stole it Wednesday at Walgreens, 2 La Grange Road. The loss is unknown.
- A catalytic converter was stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Wednesday from a car in the 300 block of North Park Road. The loss was estimated at $1,000.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 300 block of Ninth Avenue told police Sept. 30 that someone made several charges on a credit card from Sept. 21 to Sept. 26. A total of $1,769 in charges is being disputed.
- A resident in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue told police Tuesday that someone tried to open a bank account in the resident's name. The suspect was not successful. No financial loss was reported.
