La Grange Official Requests Quarry Complaint Data
She said she would like to compare the data with the information from a local Facebook group.

LA GRANGE, IL – A La Grange official on Monday requested information related to complaints about area quarries' blasting.
The quarries in McCook run the Lyons Township Quarry Council hotline (1-866-934-3278). They report the data to area officials quarterly.
At Monday's Village Board meeting, Trustee Beth Augustine directed her inquiry to Village Manager Jack Knight.

"Could you bring back the numbers they offer during those meetings about how many people have called in about blasts and any complaints?" she said. "I would love to be able to give that information to the public."
Augustine said she was not sure if the data would match up with the information from the organizers of a Facebook group focused on the blasting.

"We would just kind of like a way to have some insight on that," she said.
She also asked whether residents could take part in the meetings.
As it happens, the council plans to meet Tuesday afternoon on Zoom.
Augustine has long urged residents upset about the blasting to join the 4-year-old Facebook page focused on the issue. She also urged those with complaints to call the hotline.
At a Village Board meeting in February, Augustine said it seemed from an earlier Zoom call with the council as if the quarry companies do not see the blasting as a big deal.
"We who feel the blasts, get the dust, are troubled by the trucks, it's a big deal for us," she said.
