La Grange Park Library Hosts Community Building Project Update

Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom

The La Grange Park Public Library is set to begin construction mid-summer in an effort to repair damage to the building’s east and west exterior walls.

Library staff first noticed water damage in 2014 along the east wall. After a water infiltration study was completed in spring of 2015, the board of trustees began extensive, multi-year research to determine the scope of various maintenance issues related to the building.

Prior to groundbreaking, the library is offering an opportunity for residents to learn more about the project and offer their feedback. An online Building Project Update will take place on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. The Zoom link to attend can be found on the library website.

The Building Project Update will review a brief history of the project, introduce the construction management firm, and review the architect’s recommendations for restoring the damaged portions of the library. The budget for the project will also be discussed as well as the scope of potential interior work, should funds be available.
