La Grange Park Little League Team Heads To State Tournament
The 11-year-old La Grange Park All-Star Team is headed to the Little League State tournament for the first time ever.
LA GRANGE PARK, IL — The La Grange Park 11-year-old Little League All-Star team is headed to the Little League state tournament on July 28-29 in Freeport. According to the team, this is the first time a team from La Grange Park has ever been in the state tournament.
The team consists of 12 boys and one girl, who have been playing together in the neighborhood for a long time, according to the league. The team is known as the "Sandlot Crew."
There will be a pep rally for the "Sandlot Crew" on Friday, July 27 at 7 p.m. The celebration will consist of a short parade from Memorial Park, where they will have a practice, to the Hansworth North Field.
