La Grange Park Man Batters Officer: Cops

Officers were called to deal with an "unwanted" person, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – A La Grange Park man was arrested late last month after resisting a La Grange officer, police said.

Gregory Basgall, 54, was charged with battery and resisting an officer. He was also wanted on a warrant.

About 10:30 a.m. Nov. 30, officers responded to the area near Corner Bakery, 39 N. La Grange Road, for an "unwanted" person, police said.

When officers tried to take Basgall into custody, he resisted and battered an officer, police said.

In January, Basgall was arrested in La Grange on charges of battery, resisting arrest and assault. He had refused to leave La Grange's Stone Avenue train station, police said.

Also charged recently were:

  • Hector Rivera, 31, of Hillside about 10 p.m. Sunday at Ogden and Locust avenues on charges of driving with a revoked license, suspended registration and driving an uninsured car.
  • Nikko Lobraco, 29, of La Grange, about 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 10 block of South La Grange Road on charges of driving with a revoked license and driving with expired plates.
