La Grange Park Opens Revised Summer Day Program
Returning to work? The Community Park District's revised full day and half day summer day program begins June 15!

The Community Park District has revised its summer camp program to help provide day care for parents returning to work this season. The park district has implemented IDPH and CDC guidelines to ensure kids enjoy a healthy camp experience that is safe and fun. This program is designed for kids in grades K-5 and will begin June 15. Full day programs will run from 9am-4pm with a half day option and before and after care available, depending on demand.
The park district's Recreation Center, located at 1501 Barnsdale Road in La Grange Park, and its adjacent outdoor park space will allow the agency to safely and comfortably accommodate 40 children this summer in four clubs of 10. Kids will enjoy traditional and new camp activities that are designed with social distancing requirements in mind. Each club of 10 campers will remain with the same counselors all year long, creating a unique opportunity to build meaningful friendships that could last a lifetime.
Safety During Phase 3
The Community Park District of La Grange Park's Recreation Center features four large classrooms each with its own washrooms, aiding in maintaining social distance between the four clubs during hot or inclement weather and during bathroom breaks. The spacious facility and access to ball fields and outdoor recreational amenities in Hanesworth Park will provide the space needed for children to play freely. Participants will only be required to wear a mask during check-in, check-out, bathroom breaks, and when social distancing is not possible. One of the counselors in each club will be assigned to supervise social distancing.
