La Grange To Save Cash, Improve IT Service: Pact
The village is joining forces with other area public entities to share information technology services.

LA GRANGE, IL – Local government entities typically need the same services, but usually go it alone in seeking them.
However, for information technology, La Grange and nearby towns plan to break that tradition and join forces. In doing so, they say they'll save 50 percent in IT costs and improve service.
The other entities are Riverside and North Riverside as well as West Central Consolidated Communications, which provides 911 dispatching for a few towns east of La Grange.

On Monday, the La Grange Village Board approved an agreement with the other entities. Under its terms, the towns will have access to an IT director and help desk support. Riverside would be the agency that employs the director.
According to a La Grange memo, the village's current IT services are provided in an "ad hoc fashion" through a consultant.
