La Grange Sees 10 More Virus Cases

No new coronavirus deaths reported in La Grange, statistics show.

LA GRANGE, IL — As of Sunday, La Grange saw 10 more coronavirus cases over the previous week, according to the Cook County Public Health Department. The village experienced no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total remaining at 13, the county medical examiner's figures show.

The increase in coronavirus cases over the last week amounted to 5 percent, which is the same rate as the previous week.

Over the last week, suburban Cook County's case number jumped to 36,242, a 3 percent increase from the previous week's 35,137. The county's total weekly deaths increased by 3 percent to 1,697, up from 1,648 a week earlier.

As of Sunday, La Grange had 13.5 coronavirus cases per thousand people. That compares to 4.7 in Western Springs, 6.5 in Clarendon Hills, 6.6 in Darien, 6.8 in La Grange Park, 7.4 in Elmhurst, 10 in Burr Ridge and DuPage County as a whole, 11.4 in Hinsdale and 14.8 in suburban Cook County.

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 141,723, up 4 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 6,888 state residents.

Nationally, 2.5 million people have caught the virus and 125,484 have died from it.
