La Grange Store Burglarized Early In Morning: Cops

In another case, a snowblower was stolen from a shed, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police responded to a burglar alarm at a store earlier this week.

It happened about 1:30 a.m. Monday at La Grange Camera, 20 E. Burlington Ave., police said.

Up to 50 items were stolen, with some of them missing from display cases, police said.

Here is information from other La Grange police reports:

  • A snowblower valued at $850 was stolen from a shed in the 10 block of South Ashland Avenue. It was noticed missing Jan. 26. The shed had been unlocked for three or four weeks.
  • A resident in the 10 block of Ashland Avenue told police Jan. 27 that someone altered one of the resident's checks and tried to deposit it for $4,500. The check was stopped, so the resident suffered no financial loss.
  • An unlocked red Schwinn bicycle was reported stolen about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at La Grange Public Library, 20 W. Cossitt Ave.
  • A resident in the 400 block of South Park Road told police Monday that someone tried to open a Bank of America checking account and debit card in the resident's name. The accounts were denied, so the resident suffered no loss.
