La Grange Virus Numbers Remain Stable
No new coronavirus deaths reported in La Grange, statistics show.
LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange recorded another small increase in its coronavirus caseload in the last week. As of Sunday, the village saw six more cases over the last week, according to the Cook County Public Health Department. The village experienced no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total remaining at 13, the county medical examiner's figures show.
The increase in coronavirus cases over the last week amounted to 3 percent, which is the same rate as the previous week. Before the last month, the percentage jumps were considerably larger.

Over the last week, suburban Cook County's case number jumped to 35,137, a 3 percent increase from the previous week's 34,087. The county's total deaths increased by 2 percent to 1,648, up from 1,610 a week earlier.
As of Sunday, La Grange had 12.9 coronavirus cases per thousand people. That compares to 3.7 in Western Springs, 5.7 in Clarendon Hills, 6.3 in Elmhurst and La Grange Park, 6.5 in Darien, 9.1 in Burr Ridge, 9.7 in DuPage County, 10.7 in Hinsdale and 14.3 in suburban Cook County.

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 141,723, up 4 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 6,888 state residents.
Nationally, 2.5 million people have caught the virus and 125,484 have died from it.
