LA GRANGE, IL – A couple of weeks ago, a La Grange woman complained at a Village Board meeting about children riding on motorized minibikes around town.

At Monday's meeting, Village President Mark Kuchler noted her statement.

"We had a resident that came in and was quite disturbed that there were some young children riding around on minibikes," Kuchler said. "I hadn't seen that before. Since that meeting, I've seen that a couple of times."

Kuchler said the woman was right that the riders are "very young" and that none of them are wearing helmets.

"I find it a little hard to believe that parents are encouraging their children to go on these motorized bikes without helmets," Kuchler. "It's a little shocking to me."
