Here are the latest updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is affecting La Grange.

LA GRANGE, IL — The coronavirus is having an impact on just about every area of life in La Grange — the schools, businesses, the parks, the hospital and events.

As of Thursday, 670 additional coronavirus cases were confirmed in Illinois, increasing the state's count to 2,539. The United States became the hardest-hit nation in the world when it comes to the virus, with more than 86,000 cases.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker has also issued a stay-at-home order in effect until at least April 7. With this order, only essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and restaurants offering carry-out services can stay open.

SCHOOLS

Schools across Illinois, and in La Grange, will be closed until at least April 8, required by Gov. J.B. Pritzker's stay-at-home order. Most expect that order to be extended. MORE.

BUSINESSES

Restaurants and bars are among the hardest-hit businesses because of the coronavirus. Many are still offering takeout and delivery. The La Grange Business Association has compiled a list of more than 25 restaurants that are providing services. MORE.

PARKS
The La Grange Park District has closed its playgrounds as required under the governor's stay-at-home order. All other park facilities are closed. The district said there are no known coronavirus cases in its jurisdiction. The district's staff is working contingency plans for rescheduling programs and activities where possible, according to a district statement. MORE.

HOSPITAL
La Grange's hospital, Amita Adventist Medical Center La Grange, has closed its facilities to visitors. But its signs indicate exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Employees are checking people in at the hospital's entrances. A hospital foundation official said it has had one coronavirus patient and that the patient is now "healthy, happy and back and home." CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES
The Archdiocese of Chicago has suspended Mass and archdiocesan schools, its pastoral center and other related agencies until further notice. MORE.
