The La Grange Business Association is looking for bright, enthusiastic and eager college students to apply for a summer internship position that will help promote local businesses through targeted sales efforts, marketing initiatives, educational programs and special events.
The internship is a 12- week commitment with stipend paid at the completion of the program. Job requirements are to assist the Executive Director in the following areas: write and distribute media releases and publicity materials; content management on website and social media with an eye to increasing engagement; photograph and video special events and member activities; maintain an updated media list, member list and consumer contact information; assist in the planning and implementation of small business sales promotions and large-scale special events such as the La Grange Farmers Market, the West End Art Festival, the Summer Art Project, the La Grange Carnival,the Craft Fair and others; attend member meetings, committee meetings and other events as needed; distribute marketing materials to local businesses; represent the LGBA in a professional, mature and competent manner.
Required job skills include: strong writing abilities, quick learner, requires minimal supervision, works well under pressure, demonstrates initiative, organized and detail - oriented, reliable, punctual, strong administrative skills. Candidates must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in Marketing, Communications, Business or Public Relations. He or she is expected to be familiar with the La Grange business community and be available to work nights and weekends.
