LA GRANGE, IL — If you watched the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday, you may have heard the name Jake Elliott. However, if you're from La Grange or Western Springs, you may already be familiar with the LT alum.
Elliott, an Eagles rookie kicker, kicked a 61-yard field goal on Sunday against the New York Giants, winning the game for the Eagles and also breaking a franchise record. According to the Eagles, Elliott played for the University of Memphis and was a fifth-round pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in April. However, he was signed after tryouts by the Eagles after Caleb Sturgis injured his hip.
The Chicago Tribune reported that Elliott, who is a former tennis and soccer player at LT, didn't start playing organized football until his junior year.
