LT chefs headed to state

Lyons Township High School took six competitors to the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Sectional Culinary Arts Competition last week. Four of the six students qualified to compete at the state level. Congratulations to juniors Daniel Arellano, of Hodgkins, Ahmed Arif, of Brookfield, Martha Harris, of LaGrange, and senior Xavier Del Valle, of LaGrange Highlands. LT students will compete in the STAR event competition for Culinary Arts, which is an event similar to Iron Chef America, at Kendall College on March 19. Each team must develop a plan for the time allotted, prepare menu items given to them at the time of the event, and present their prepared items to evaluators.
