LT Radio Student Wins National Award For Jake Elliott Feature
Lyons Township High School senior and WLTL Radio staffer Lars Lonnroth won first place for spot news coverage.

LA GRANGE, IL – A Lyons Township High School radio student won the top prize in a category at a recent national broadcasting contest. Lars Lonnroth, of La Grange, was awarded first place in the country for his news feature titled "Jake Elliott Returns Home" in the spot news coverage category at the Intercollegiate Broadcast System Conference in New York City.
The award-winning WLTL newscast, which can be heard here, focused on Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott. Elliott grew up in Western Springs and played at LT before winning the Super Bowl with the Eagles.
“As a senior, it’s nice to receive affirmation from organizations that see the value in LT’s media programs," Lonnroth said. "You work really hard all four years, and it’s rewarding to see it all come together.”
