LTHS Enrollment Lowest In Dozen Years
The school reached a decade high in enrollment in 2019, a year before the pandemic.
LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School's enrollment is at the lowest level in a dozen years.
Last week, the school reported its enrollment at 3,859, which was down by 3 percent from a year earlier, when the number was 3,975.

Lyons Township reached a high of 4,125 in 2019, falling 6 percent since then.
For most of the last decade, enrollment was above 4,000. From 2006 to 2010, the number ranged from 3,753 to 3,840, according to the Illinois Report Card.

Online commenters have speculated that Lyons Township High School's enrollment would fall because of pandemic restrictions, falling test scores, equity efforts or a combination of those factors.
Through a spokeswoman, Superintendent Brian Waterman said enrollment projections compiled by an independent demographer indicated a "speculative enrollment range" of 3,404 to 4,517 through the 2021 school year.
"Our current enrollment falls within this range. We are in the process of updating our enrollment projections for the future," spokeswoman Mary Lin Muscolino said in an email.
