LTHS Sees Decline In Coronavirus Cases

The number is still well above the levels for the last three months.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School saw a decline in coronavirus cases among students in the last week.

But the numbers are considerably higher than in the previous three months.

As of Thursday, 28 students had tested positive for the coronavirus, down from the previous week's 33. At current levels, less than 1 percent of students have the virus.

Before the last two weeks, only a handful of students at a time were reported as having the coronavirus. The last surge was in January.

As of Thursday, six Lyons Township High employees were reported having the coronavirus. That was down from the previous two weeks, when a dozen employees tested positive.

Other high schools are also seeing increases among students.

In Elmhurst, York High School's number of students with the coronavirus jumped to 47 as of Friday, up from 25 a week earlier.

Hinsdale Central is now reporting 55 cases, up from seven a week earlier. By contrast, Hinsdale South has just six cases, up one from the previous week.
