LTHS Test Scores Still Below Pre-Pandemic Numbers
As a wealthy school, the local high school remains well above state averages.

LA GRANGE, IL – Lyons Township High School's SAT scores slipped last school year, remaining below pre-pandemic levels.
On Wednesday morning, the state released test scores for schools across the state.
Last school year, 52 percent of Lyons Township juniors met or exceeded standards on the English language arts portion of the SAT, down from 55 percent a year earlier. In 2019, the school stood at 60 percent and dropped to a low of 49 percent in 2022.

For math, 53 percent met benchmarks, down from 54 percent the year before. This compares to 64 percent in 2019. The school was at a low of 51 percent in 2021 and 2022.
As with most wealthy schools, Lyons Township High School was well ahead of Illinois averages. Statewide, juniors were at 31 percent and 26 percent in English language arts and math, respectively.

Last school year, 12 percent of Lyons Township High School students were reported as coming from low-income families. That compares to nearly half of students statewide.
