LTHS welcomes new Student Resource Officer to South Campus
AJ Hull replaces KC Church as South Campus Student Resource Officer.

Lyons Township High School is pleased to welcome Western Springs police officer A.J. Hull to South Campus. Officer Hull replaces Detective K.C. Church as the South Campus Student Resource Officer.
Officer Hull has been a member of the Western Springs Police Department for the past 16 years and is anxious to begin his role at LT. Hull says he hopes to help deter crime and be a friendly face for students, parents and educators. His role will include crime investigation, serving as a liaison between the school and police agencies, and assisting staff with security measures and students and parents with juvenile law issues.
Hull says he became a police officer to help people, “In society, we need those people to take a stand and help the communities in which we all live. So I stood up and am here to help in all its forms.”
Hull is a certified juvenile officer, evidence technician, breathe operator and a child car seat technician, In 2012, he received a Merit Award from Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and last year received a Recognition Award from the Western Springs Police Department for apprehending a residential burglar. He is also a liaison for the Police Explorer Youth Program, affiliated with Boy Scouts of America.
He says high schoolers are growing up in a challenging time, “They are trying to find their place in the world and become their own person. There are many pressures and demands from drugs, technology, home life, other kids, school and local and world affairs. This group just needs guidance.”
As the South Campus Resource Officer, Hull will serve as a resource, available to parents if their child is a victim or offender of a crime and can assist with anything safety related. He hopes to help guide students as they enter the adult world and focus their actions away from trouble.
