Lyons Township Mother Arrested In Baby's Death: Report

She is charged with first-degree murder and endangering the life of a child.

JUSTICE, IL – A 22-year-old Lyons Township woman was being held without bail Monday in connection with the death of her baby in October, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Jamie Hannion was with counts of first-degree murder and felony endangering the life of a child, resulting in death.

The Tribune reported that prosecutors said a number of red flags about 19-month-old Nathan Wisdom's health were raised before he died, including a hospital stay in September due to failure to thrive and poor weight gain.

The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled baby Nathan's death a homicide due to nutritional neglect.

Hannion lived in the 800 block of Victory Lane in the Sterling Estates mobile home park, authorities said. It is in an unincorporated area near Justice.

According to Fox Chicago, Cook County Sheriff's police on Feb. 26 went to Hannion's parents' Oak Forest home but were told she was in Tennessee. A warrant was issued for her arrest Feb. 28, and she was taken into custody in Tennessee March 7 before being returned to Illinois last week.

An obituary for the baby said he died on Oct. 17 and "will be deeply missed by his Mom; Jamie Hannion," along with his father and grandparents.
