Man Accused of Battering La Grange Cop: Police
In another case, a gun is pulled in a road rage incident, according to a report.

LA GRANGE, IL – In the last few days, La Grange police handled cases involving aggravated battery, road rage with a gun, a DUI, attempted burglary, theft at a nursing home, a doctor who was threatened and retail theft. Here is information from the latest La Grange police reports:
Aggravated battery
- Matthew P. Kimball, 39, of Chicago Ridge, was arrested July 10 in the 100 block of South Catherine Avenue on charges of aggravated battery of a police officer and public indecency. Two days later, he was arrested in the 10 block of Sixth Avenue on a violation of a bail bond.

- An Amazon driver told police July 7 about being involved in a road rage incident in which the other driver pointed a handgun at him. No physical contact was made.
DUI
- Jessica L. Barr, 39, of La Grange, was arrested July 4 in the 300 block of West Burlington Avenue on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured car.
Attempted burglary

- Someone entered an unlocked car and moved items around June 30 in the 200 block of Sawyer Avenue. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Theft at nursing home
- Someone stole $200 in cash from a greeting card at Meadowbrook La Grange nursing home, 339 Ninth Ave. The report was filed July 3.
Doctor threatened
- During a phone call, a threat was made against a doctor July 5 in the 500 block of South Ashland Avenue.
Retail theft
- Vitamin water was stolen Sunday at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road. On Wednesday at the store, an energy drink and snack foods were stolen.
- A resident in the 1000 block of South La Grange Road paid for a new water heater online and the contractor never responded or installed the heater. The report was filed Monday.
Identity theft
- A front passenger side window was reported broken on a parked car Tuesday in the 10 block of North Brainard Avenue. A bag that contained credit cards was stolen. The cards were used for unauthorized purchases. An investigation continues.
- A resident in the 200 block of Sawyer Avenue told police Wednesday about receiving an ambulance bill for $2,100 in the mail. His identification was fraudulently used for the bill.
Damage
- Eggs were thrown at a house July 3 in the 500 block of South Waiola Avenue. The damage is not believed to be permanent.
- A portable toilet was damaged by fireworks July 4 at 48th Street and Stone Avenue.
