Meadowbrook Manor, Grove Of La Grange Park Fined $25K

Two La Grange-area nursing homes have been fined.

LA GRANGE, IL — Two area nursing homes have been fined by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The violations were announced Friday as part of the state's 2019 Second Quarterly Report of Nursing Home Violators.

The report showed both "AA" and "A" violations tht allegedly occurred between April and June of this year. According to the Health Department, an “AA” violation is cited when there is a condition or occurrence at the facility that proximately caused a resident’s death. An “A” violation pertains to a condition in which there is a substantial probability that death or serious mental or physical harm will result, or has resulted.

Both local facilities were hit with "A" violations.

Grove of La Grange Park, a 131-bed skilled care facility at 701 North La Grange Road in La Grange Park, was fined $25,000 for failure to safely transfer a resident.

Meadowbrook Manor La Grange, a 197-bed skilled care facility located at 339 9th Ave. in La Grange, was fined $25,000 for failure to safely transfer residents with a mechanical lift according to their policy.
