Nazareth Academy Football Heads To State Finals

Nazareth Academy's varsity football team will head to the IHSA Class 6A Championship Game.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Nazareth Academy's varsity football team will head to the IHSA Class 6A Championship Game. The Roadrunners will try to reclaim the state title, which they won in 2014 and 2015, on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb.

The school is inviting current students, parents, alumni and friends to greet the team’s return from DeKalb at a Welcome Home Rally in the Rooney Student Center at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Win or lose, the school said it will honor the current Roadrunners, the generations of student-athletes who have forged the path, and the fans who support our team week in and week out.

In announcing the plans for the weekend, Nazareth’s principal Deborah Tracy said in a release, “We are
thrilled to be headed to State again. We celebrate the accomplishments of our Football Program, always keeping an eye on the bigger picture. Win and loss records mean nothing if our athletic programs are not helping to develop more respectful, kind, faith-filled and service-oriented student-athletes."
