Twelve U.S. History Honors students from Nazareth Academy had their History Fair project move on to the city finals.

LA GRANGE PARK, IL — Twelve U.S. History Honors students from Nazareth Academy had their History Fair project move on to the Metro City Finals event at University of Illinois Chicago on April 12. According to the school, winners from the city finals will advance to the state finals.
The school said juniors in Mrs. Hawkins’ U.S. History Honors classes were charged with creating research
papers, documentaries or exhibits focused on one subject in Chicago or Chicago suburban history. During the course of this project, students spend approximately five months working individually or in groups to create historical research projects.
The six advancing projects range from documentaries about the Chicago Meat Industry, the Illinois & Michigan Canal and Daniel Sotomayor, to exhibits about the Negro Travel Green Book and Cancer Research, to a research paper about Florence Kelley, the school said.
