Nazareth's Ryan Powers Celebrates Making McDonald's All-American Team
The senior forward joined family and friends at McDonald's La Grange location on March 5; the All-American game at United Center March 30 will air live on ESPN.
Nazareth Academy's Ryan Powers this year became one of 1,200 high school basketball players nationwide nominated to the 2011 McDonald's All American High School Basketball Boys Team.
According to a press release from McDonald's, "Ryan was nominated for this great honor based on his hard work, skill and teamwork on the basketball court and in the classroom."
On March 5, Powers celebrated the achievement at in La Grange, 100 N. LaGrange Road, with his family and friends, including his parents, Dan and Sue Powers. He signed McDonald’s 2011 hats for those in attendance and even signed a basketball for a young fan. Powers, who began playing basketball as an 8-year-old, was all-conference and all-area for three years in a row .

The Nazareth senior, and forward on the school's basketball team, heads to Miami of Ohio in the fall on a baseball scholarship, but not before the McDonald's All-American game on March 30 at United Center, which will air live on ESPN. The game benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
