New Campaign Lets Customers Dine Out to Give Back
#LaGrangeGives: Local restaurants collaborate with non-profits to drive traffic in February.
Customers who dine at several La Grange restaurants this month will be giving back to many of their favorite local charities at the same time.
Nine participating restaurants are collaborating with nearly a dozen local non-profit organizations from February 15-28, 2016 in a social media- driven campaign called #LaGrangeGives, according to the La Grange Business Association (LGBA).
Restaurants will donate 15% of a customer’s food purchase to a partner non-profit group when the customer shows a special flyer during this limited time. This is the first time that the business association has organized a restaurant campaign like this which encourages people to come together to give back to the local community.

“This is a way to celebrate the non-profit organizations that play such a key role in our community,” said Joan Smothers, the chairperson of the LGBA’s non-profit committee. “It’s a simple idea that shows how we make a big impact when we all work collectively,” she said.
Traditionally a slow month in the restaurant industry, February lends itself well to an effort like #LaGrangeGives, according to the LGBA. Organizers are optimistic that patrons will dine at multiple locations to benefit several non-profits over the 14-day campaign, as well as share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #LaGrangeGives.
