"Not On My Watch, Baby!" And The Reasons Why.

The answer to your kids and grandkids when they ask you “what did you do in 2025 when our country was turning into an authoritarian/fascist nation?” will be important and life changing. If that answer is “I was scared but did nothing” or “I really didn’t think it was that bad” or a perennial favorite of historical bystanders (including those in 1930s Nazi Germany), “I just stayed out of it”, I assure you will feel deeply guilty and remorseful. It does not have to be that way. You want your answer to your kids and grandkids to be “Not on my damn watch, baby - I was out there!”

The good news, it’s easy to help. Everyone in this country can change that direction, starting right now. This very weekend, in fact. One does not need any special training, money, age level, educational background, connections or live in any specific geography. You can just use your feet, your heart and get out there. There is no need to understand how all of government works, be knowledgeable on policy, know how to organize or understand macroeconomics.
All you need is to care and know right from wrong. If you are worried about the wrongs, get out there and help our country be moral, abundant, safe and brilliant.

This is a list of recent actions this regime is taking to turn us into an authoritarian state:

• Most recently, Trump inched his way toward Marshall Law during the LA protests and called the National Guard on a state: Gov. Gavin Newsom, Mayor Karen Bass and other leading California Democrats criticized President Trump’s deployment of National Guard soldiers in Los Angeles, calling it an unnecessary provocation. Trump and his Border Czar, Tom Homan, asserted they would arrest the Governor for doing his job.
• Illegal immigration practices/vanishing or disappearing thousands of innocent people to foreign gulags without due process
• The president is ignoring court orders, threatening to arrest judges and ignoring contempt charges
• Supporting a budget bill that will gut Medicaid, take away healthcare from 14 million people and most nutritional assistance programs for kids as well as add trillions to the deficit, in order to give his friends huge tax cuts
• Applying ridiculously high tariffs that will very likely cause a significant recession or much worse
• Refusing to support Ukraine
• Ignoring the genocide
• Arresting government officials (Congresswoman McIver, Mayor Baraka)illegally who are simply doing their jobs
• Pardoning violent criminals
• Firing and laying off hundreds of thousands of federal workers for no reason
• Dismantling robust and deeply needed programs and international agencies that are irreplaceable and when gone will cause incredible harm for decades to come:
  • Department of Veterans Affairs (VA): Planned reorganization and significant job cuts. Concerns about impact on veteran services and healthcare are rampant.
  • Department of Health and Human Services (HHS): Restructuring, layoffs, and ending programs that prevent epidemics. Specific agencies under HHS facing reductions include:

  a. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Layoffs and a refocused mission. b. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Massive staffing reductions and ending standard food safety work. c. National Institutes of Health (NIH): Funding cuts and reductions in administrative overhead. d. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS): Collaboration with DOGE to find cost-saving opportunities. Concerns raised about risks to healthcare; delivery of service and payments are prevalent. e. Department of Education (ED): Plans to eliminate the department, layoffs, and termination of contracts will end much needed programs, curriculum and protection of civil rights.

  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): Efforts to eliminate or significantly reduce the agency, termination of the director, and concerns about access to sensitive data.
  • US Agency for International Development (USAID): Efforts to dismantle the agency, take its website and social media offline, and lay off staff continue. This has already caused deaths in other countries and negatively affected our farmers.
  • Social Security Administration (SSA): Efforts to find fraud, accusations of payments to deceased individuals, and plans to reduce staff has resulted in Americans SSA data being put in jeopardy and slowed services to seniors and the disabled.
  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS): Access to taxpayer data, layoffs of probationary workers, and concerns about the impact on tax enforcement and revenue are significant.
  • Department of Defense (DOD): Identification of wasteful spending and termination of programs, contracts, and grants seem to be centered on negatively affecting soldiers.
  • Ending DEI programs throughout all of government and then attempting to do the same in any organization that either does business with the Fed or is funded in any way by the Fed.
  • Gutting FEMA will end support during national catastrophes.
• Repealing LGBTQ+ rights
• Withdrawing from the World Health Organization
• The list goes on…

Choose any one of these horrors and most should be outraged, but all together, we all should be outraged. Choose the reason you feel most strongly about and speak up for on June 14th . Show this fascist regime what Americans are made of, via peaceful and respectful protest.
Remember, you are all role models for those younger than you as well as the world.
