Obstetrics, Newborn Deliveries Suspended At La Grange Hospital
Newborn deliveries and obstetrics have been temporarily suspended at La Grange Hospital.

LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange Hospital will temporarily close its obstetrics unit while renovations are being done, according to CEO Michael Murrill. Services, including newborn deliveries, were suspended at La Grange Hospital on June 1, although deliveries will continue at Hinsdale Hospital.
AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center La Grange's current OB unit will receive several enhancements, including an updated family lounge and technology upgrades. Hinsdale Hospital and La Grange Hospital are close to each other and Murrill said they expect to build complementary centers at each site that will serve the broader community.
"Over the past several months, we have engaged physicians and leaders in discussions about how to effectively provide [Woman's and Children's services] between AMITA Health La Grange and Hinsdale," Murrill said in a release. "The result of those conversations is a decision to more fully integrate the two programs into one Center of Excellence across two locations."
