Families from LaGrange and across Chicagoland are invited to come meet the star of the newest hit animated PBSKids series NATURE CAT during Brookfield Zoo’s FREEze Day, Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Hammill Family Play Zoo. Take your picture with the costume character and join WTTW for a variety of hands-on activities, including making bird feeders from recycled toilet paper rolls and playing tracking games! FREEze Day opens to the public at 10:00 a.m. at the West Mall in the Brookfield Zoo. Admission is free and there will be fun winter activities throughout the zoo. NATURE CAT, airing three times daily on WTTW11 in Chicago, is a co-production of Chicago-based Spiffy Pictures and WTTW Chicago and follows the adventures of Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire.” Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and bravery, but there’s one problem: He’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.” For more information about NATURE CAT visit www.pbskids.org/naturecat.
