Open Casting Call for "Ten In 10" Brookfield 10-Minute Play Festival

OPEN AUDITIONS FOR:

“Ten In 10” Brookfield 10‐Minute Play Festival

Auditions are being held on Sept. 13th at the Brookfield Village Hall 8820 Brookfield Ave. for the Village’s 10 minute play
festival. Auditions will run from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Scheduling will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. Be advised that actors
must arrive no later than 3:00 pm to sign in. We are casting for six plays with parts for males and females of varying
ages. Unless otherwise stated please be prepared to perform a 1 – 2 minute monologue in the same genre as the play
for which you are auditioning. Actors are allowed/encouraged to audition for more than one play. If you have any

Below is the list of the plays and parts we will be casting.

It’s Raining – A story about heartbreak and getting your life back on track.
Tom – A stubborn teenage boy.
Mary – A fun‐loving teenage girl.

The Space Behind Your Heart – Small talk turns to serious discussion when two people on a blind date learn
as much about themselves as they do about one another.
Connor – A man in his early 40’s.
Sloan – A woman in her late 30’s.

When the Wheels Come Off – A sweet story of kindness to strangers with a sad and souring twist.
Phillip – A well‐dressed paraplegic man in his mid 40’s. (Will need to be able to operate a wheelchair.)
Jason – A kind maintenance worker in his mid 30’s.

Rahm Schnitzel With Mushrooms – A story of strangers, cities, and learning how to deal with loss.

Judy – A regional sales director from New Jersey, Mid 50’s.
Becca – A former clown turned broker’s Admin, 30’s.

Can Cause Death – An over‐the‐top scenario of pharmaceutical testing gone wrong and the attempts to
cover it up.
Bill – An ad agency boss, 40’s to 50’s
Bob – A copywriter, Mid 20’s to 30’s
Bethany – A graphic artist, Mid 20’s to 30’s
Bonnie – Drug company public relations representative, 40’s to 50’s

Due to scheduling issues casting for the following play will not begin until 5:00 pm. Sign in for this play only will
continue until 4:30 pm.

The Lady and “The Tyger” or William Blake’s How I Met Your Mother – A romantic comedy featuring two
unique characters and their love of literature.
Man – Late 20’s with a “permanent grad student” vibe.
Woman – Late 20’s, full of eccentric, neurotic energy.

The Performance of the “Ten in 10” Festival will be on November 15th with Tech rehearsals the two days immediately
prior. Please be sure you will be available on these dates before auditioning. (All other rehearsals will be determined by
directors of individual plays based on their and the cast’s personal availability.)
