Student Arrested In LTHS Attack

Two juveniles were injured in the incident outside the school, the village said.

LA GRANGE, IL – A student has been charged in Monday's altercation at Lyons Township High School's North Campus, the La Grange village government announced Friday.

The student was identified as James Hernandez Jr., 18, of Brookfield, who faces a charge of battery.

Earlier this week, the high school said the altercation took place shortly after 4 p.m. Monday outside Exit 7. A student was taken to the hospital, the school said.

According to the village's news release, the altercation involved several juveniles, with two injured.

The village described the incident as isolated and that it poses no threat to the community. It said the investigation remains "open and active."

The school said Friday that the student who went to the hospital continues to receive medical treatment.
