Pillars Health La Grange Awarded $1.4 Million Grant
The award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will help provide affordable services.

LA GRANGE, IL - Pillars Community Health in La Grange is the recipient of a $1.4 million grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to help advance the comprehensive, affordable and quality care primary services at the location at 110 Calendar Avenue in La Grange. The grant was announced Monday by the office of Illinois Congressman Dan Lipinski.
“Pillars Community Health is a tremendous resource for the people of my district,” Lipinski said. “They are one of only a few nonprofits in the state of Illinois to integrate primary medical and dental care with mental health, early education, and social services. I’m proud to be an advocate for the essential services they provide to people who need it most.”
The $1.4 million received by Pillars is the FY 2019 Health Center Program Service Area Competition award through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Lipinski's office said in a news release. The grant money will help the medical center provide a number of services to several residents in La Grange and surrounding towns, Angela Curran, president and CEO of Pillars, said.

“Pillars Community Health is very proud to receive continued funding for our Community Health Center Services, including health care for the homeless funding,” Curran said. “These grant dollars enable Pillars Community Health to continue to provide quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services for low-income, uninsured and underinsured residents of western Cook County.”
It's the second grant Pillars has received from the Department of Health and Human Services in the last six months. In October of last year, a grant was awarded to help expand patient access to treatment for substance abuse and mental health services.
