Porch Piracy, Theft: La Grange Cops

A $1,000 package was stolen from a porch in a La Grange neighborhood, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:

Porch piracy

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Brainard Avenue told police July 29 that someone stole a package from the resident's front porch. The package was valued at $1,000.

Theft

  • Someone stole $130 from a purse between 5:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Meadowbrook La Grange nursing home, 339 Ninth Ave.
  • Several items were stolen from a back lot overnight July 29 in the 500 block of South La Grange Road. The items included a Honda CB125 engine valued at $250, four Jaguar XJ8 tires and rims valued at $100 to $200 each, and a Haas Steel CNC indexer valued at $1,000.
  • A resident at Beds Plus, 960 W. Ogden Ave., told police Tuesday that someone stole the resident's DVD player and medical records.
  • A black iron patio table was reported stolen Wednesday in the 10 block of Seventh Avenue. It was valued at $150.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 10 block of Beacon Place told police Tuesday about being the victim of identity theft. Someone opened a DirecTV account in the resident's name.
