Porn-Buying Ex-Official Wants Name Change: Records

The former superintendent, who is the target of a police investigation, is selling his house.

SUMMIT, IL – The superintendent of west suburban Argo Community High School wants to change his name and is selling his house, according to public records.

Will County Court records show that William Toulios, who resigned under pressure at Argo Community High School last fall, filed a request in March to change his name.

By Friday, though, the case file was no longer accessible in the courthouse. And any trace of it has disappeared from the court's website.

Toulios is under a state police investigation for his spending as superintendent. Under state law, law enforcement agencies can object to a name change petition and have it stopped.

Patch could not verify Toulios' proposed new name.

In March, Toulios put his house on Ashbrook Lane in Mokena on the market for $824,000, with the price since dropping to $770,000. As of Monday, it was listed as a contingent sale.

He bought the house for $548,000 in 2021, according to real estate records.

Will County recently assessed the home's market value at $710,000.

Toulios could not be reached for comment Monday.

After being on leave for seven months last year, Toulios resigned Nov. 13. That was the same day that an internal investigation concluded he spent public money for personal purposes and conspired with an employee to hide the spending.

The spending included thousands on porn, the inquiry found.
