The Princess & The Pea
Make plans to see The Princess & The Pea at The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences
Little girls love The Princess & The Pea. They like the image of a princess climbing up a mattress pile to get to the top. The story about overcoming obstacles and discovering true love comes to life this spring on the Marriott Theatre stage from February 26 through May 3. These special, one-hour productions are great for Girl Scout troops, birthday parties and family outings.
What’s great about the young adult productions is the story is condensed, but the quality isn’t. The staging, costumes and performances rival anything you’d see on the nighttime production stage. The Princess & The Pea features Jeff-Award winner actors Alex Goodrich and Susan Moniz, as well as Jeff-Award nominee Dara Cameron.
After the show the performers come out for an audience question and answer session. This is a great time for children and young adults to ask the questions they’ve always wanted answered. The actors really enjoy talking to the audience. After a question and answer session an actor told me they felt a responsibility to help the next generation of theater-goers learn as much as possible about the performances. The more they learn, the more they can appreciate what it takes to create live theater.
