"We are grateful to come to an agreement that balances the needs of our district and our educators moving forward," the news release said.
The school board kept the contract with the Lyons Township Education Association secret from the public before its vote. That was following the custom of Illinois school districts.
As of Tuesday morning, the agreement was not yet posted on the school's website.
The contract involves a big part of the school's budget.
In the recent election, the union supported school board President Kari Dillon, member Jill Beda Daniels and candidate Tim Albores. All three won.
