Rescue Our Angels benefit helps families with autistic children

An Autism Science Foundation blog post noted that “The earlier an autistic child receives care, the better his or her prospects for living a fruitful and productive life become.” Still, many autism therapies are not covered by insurance, leaving families with expensive medical bills.

Generation Rescue, a nonprofit headed by Jenny McCarthy, offers families treatment grants to ensure that all autistic children have access to medical care. Of course, these grants can only be issued when generous donors provide much needed funds.

The 7th Annual Rescue Our Angels event on Friday, May 9, founded by Chicagoland residents Michele and Pete Doyle, will raise much-needed funds. Jenny McCarthy, co-host of “The View,” will host the event. Celebrity guests scheduled to participate include Jacqueline and Chris Laurita (The Real Housewives of New Jersey), and Chef Chris Laurita. Ryan Chiaverini, co-host of Windy City LIVE, and Catie Keogh, host and executive producer of 24/7 Secrets of the City, are event emcees.
