Riverside Residents Eligible for Free Classes
at CSS Academy in Brookfield
Grant from Riverside Township Mental Health Board
Provides Recreation and Learning for Those with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
Brookfield, IL – CSS (Community Support Services), a leading service agency for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), announced today that Riverside Township residents with I/DD are eligible for free classes at CSS Academy in Brookfield. CSS Academy is a new continuing education initiative that opened last year in a renovated 4,000 square foot facility in Brookfield. Located at 3732 Grand Boulevard, CSS Academy provides a wide range of classes for the entire community and people at all ability levels. This is the first inclusive facility of its kind in our region.
The grant, valued at $2,000, will provide at classes for up to 20 individuals who cannot otherwise afford to attend. The participants will select their preferred class from among 30 weekly classes in four key categories including the Arts Vocational Skills, Life Skills and Recreation/Sports. Some favorite classes include Yoga, Zumba Gold, Advanced Art Exploration, Polymer Jewelry Making, Cooking, Money Matters, Computer Basics, Intro to Apple iPad, and more!
