Rush Hour Concerts a summer treat
After work on Tuesday, St. James Cathedral hosts a summer concert series that's free and entertaining
Everyone is looking for fun, free ways to enjoy summer in the city. For the 16th season, Rush Hour concerts brings a musical treat to downtown Chicago with free after-work concerts.
Each concert is an event that starts with a pre-concert reception and conversation at 5:00 p.m. The performance starts at 5:45 p.m. The 30 minute concert concludes with plenty of time for you to catch a train home.
For the sixth consecutive year, WFMT will showcase Chicago favorites ranging from Fifth House Ensemble to Brass through the Ages to Spectral Quartet to Third Coast Percussion via a live simulcast. Soloists performing include artists from Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, Lyric Opera’s Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center, the Chicago Philharmonic, and the Grant Park Orchestra.
