Saint Joseph School teachers shake things up at McDonald's!

Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher's Night to raise money for St. Joseph School.

Elgin| St. Joseph Catholic School students gave their teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education.

Several fun-loving teachers and staff members from St. Joseph School volunteered on Thursday, October 17, at the Elgin McDonald’s located on Larkin Ave., where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for their school.

Mrs. Smith was in the Pie Costume for the entire night alongside Ms. Gosse who sold the pies to customers during this FUNdraising event.

The proceeds from the sale of pies went directly to benefit the school and the students. Twenty percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were also donated directly to the school, which plans to use that money to go into the general funds account to benefit the school's technology upgrades.

David Bear, Owner- Operator of the Elgin McDonald’s, and the Bear Family were delighted to participate in this worthy cause for education and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Bear said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Elgin community through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

“The teachers and families who supported this event are the fabric that strengthens our community,” Bear said.
