Scavenging For Skeletons In La Grange

Skeletons alive! Dozens of them are posing on the sidewalks in front of local businesses this month as part of a spirited celebration in La Grange called "Skeletober."

This is the fifth year that the La Grange Business Association is organizing the display of boney visitors as a way to entice visitors to explore La Grange. Nearly 40 skeletons are displayed outside, including a family of skeletons enjoying a meal outside of Monk's Burgers & More; a skeleton dressed in leiderhosen hoisting a giant beer stein in front of Milk Money Brewing;,a tangled skeleton trapped in a giant spider web at Barrel House Social; and a pirate skeleton from Just Escape Room beckoning visitors to sit beside him.

People are encouraged to take pictures with the engaging skeletons and post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram by tagging the La Grange Business Association and using the hashtag #skeletober to be entered in several random prize drawings throughout the month.

A walking map is available online and at local businesses and indicates where each skeleton is located. The month-long promotion is sponsored by Chiro One Wellness Centers and is held with the support of the Village of La Grange.

Beginning on Saturday, October 10 through October 31, visitors are encouraged to team up with family and friends for the Skeleton Scavenger Hunt throughout downtown La Grange. Visit skeletober.com to get the first clue to the Halloween adventure. Follow all the clues to 10 locations to be entered in a random prize drawing.

Participating restaurants will also be featuring devilishly delightful cocktails in a Spirits Tour of La Grange beginning October 17. Other special offers and discounts at local businesses can be found here.
