Sea Lion Born At Brookfield Zoo
Charger, born last month, can be seen at the zoo's Pinniped Point.

BROOKFIELD, IL — A California sea lion pup born last month is one of the newest animals on display at the Brookfield Zoo. So this may save some Chicagoans a trip to San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf to see a sea lion.
Charger, the young sea lion at the Brookfield Zoo, was born on June 10 and is already available for viewing at the zoo's Pinniped Point, the zoo said in a news release. Charger's mom, Josephine, is also available for viewing in the outdoor habitat.
According to the zoo, Charger has nearly doubled his weight since birth, growing steadily thanks to the richness of his mothers' milk. He will nurse for another five or six months at the minimum.
