Burglary Pattern Seen In La Grange Park: Cops

The latest break-in involved the theft of jewelry and money, authorities said.

LA GRANGE, IL – Four similar house burglaries have occurred over the last couple of months in La Grange Park, local police said.

In each case, suspects entered through the back of the house, with three involving forced entry by breaking a rear door's glass, police said. They targeted homes that appeared unoccupied at dusk, police said.

The latest was reported as occurring between 9 a.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. Jewelry and money were stolen, police said.

The same pattern has been seen throughout the western suburbs, according to a La Grange Park news release.

The police department encourages residents to report suspicious cars and people, activate residential alarms, make their homes appear occupied, ensure adequate outside lighting and use the local vacation watch program.
