Solar-Powered Pedestrian Sign Installed On Brainard Avenue
The new sign has LED lights that flash when a pedestrian engages the signal.
In furtherance of the Village’s strategic priority of improving pedestrian safety, new pedestrian push-button lighted crossing signs were recently installed at Brainard Avenue and 48th Street. The highly reflective and solar powered sign has LED lights that flash when a pedestrian engages the signal.
Motorists are asked to be aware of the signal, proceed with caution when the lights are activated, and yield to pedestrians within the crosswalk. Pedestrians are reminded to wait to cross the intersection until vehicles have stopped and it is safe to cross the intersection.
